Meta Overview 39: We're Back!

Final Exams are finally over and we are back to update our blog!!

13/08/16 - We see the consistent Fifth Omni deck taking over the world by winning tournaments all over the globe. "SD" Merak has proven itself worthy to be part of the Fifth Omni Calvary Dragons. We do however see an uprising Sundragons which is bale to fight off the many Fifth Omni players out there now. 72 Pillars and Dragon Ein have managed to keep the positions in Tier 1. However we see Aster falling to Tier 2 due to how hard the Buddyfight meta has hardcountered the deck. No doubt it is still a strong deck but with so many cards that can kill off "Aster" immediately in 1 turn, it's no wonder people have shifted to other decks.

20/8/16 - Fifth Omni is showing no signs of letting any decks overtaking it and many people are calling the deck too strong for Buddyfight's current meta. However older decks like Asgards have been seen roaming around too. With the new leaks for "Dragonforce" cards, many people have speculated how the cards will change the way we play and also hoiw it will shift the meta.

Meta Overview 36 : It's Time For The Sun To Shine!!

Sorry for not being able to update last week as all our admins were busy but here we are finally!

23/07/16 -DBT-02 Roar! Invincible Dragons!! is finally out!!! This booster brings about more support for Sundragoms and Blackdragons making them alot stronger than they were . Great Full Bal Lariat and Unlimited Death Drain are truly terrifying cards. Not to miss out, Katana World Ninjas got their long deserved support. Many of the staples for Katana world was reprinted making it easier for newer players to make Ninjas.
However even with the new release , we still see Shadow Shades , Fifth Omni and Dragon Ein dominating tournaments everywhere. With enough people testing the decks out , we believe that Sundragons and Ninjas have the potential of being one of the decks which can totally change the way we play buddyfight.

31/07/16- One week after the booster's release, we see emerging decks such as Dual Jaeger and Sundragons shining in our locals, Especially for Sundragons, the long-awaited Great Full Bal Lariat has proven to be one of the strongest cards in the entire Buddyfight game. With the ability to destroy 3 cards whenever it attacks makes it an incredible threat.
We however still see Fifth Omni's everywhere topping with their brand-new size 0 'SD' Merak which is considered to many players, a card worth ban considering. Both decks used by the main protagonist are extremely strong in our current meta game. So if you are planning to get a deck, Gao Mikado's decks seems to be the most worth getting now.

DBT02- Roar! Invincible Dragons!!! Meta Predictions

The newly release DBT02 Unleash Invincible Dragons!!! featuring Dragon Chief Emperor is has finally reached our shores!! From the full list that was revealed when Japan open theirs, we saw many potential meta-changing card which are worth looking out for. Here are some cards which we think may shape the meta as we know.

1. Bal Dragon, ' Great Full Bal Lariat!!'

This card is an excellent addition to the Sun Dragon family. With an ability that destroys 3 cards consistently whenever it attacks, makes it one of the biggest threats out there now. It is however balanced out by the fact that it does not have 'soulguard' and has only 3 criticals. Nonetheless it is a must in every Sundragon deck now and we will not be surprised if this deck comes to become one of the top tier decks out there.

2. Abygale, "Unlimited Death Drain!"

Another overpowered Impact monster for Black Dragons. Alongside the already broken 'Vanishing Death Hole!", this card makes for a good tempo play when trying to keep up with your opponent's tempo or even to make your opponent play into your tempo. Milling 10 cards from your opponent's deck is like 1/5 of your opponent's deck which is really a lot. It also can get rid of some of the many threats your opponent's deck has and maybe even deck him out. Mill Abygale maybe?

3. Gojinmaru "Ghoul Deity Arts, Dance Of Yashagami!"

Finally! More support for the unloved Katana world. This card is extremely strong as it has Double Attack and Spell Nullify capabilities . Also with soulguard and a 8000/2/8000 stats, it is hard to clear it. It works as a great finisher as well. I guess anything with spell nullify is just too good to not use. We are expecting to see more Katana users out there and if used well, may be a force to be reckon with.

4. Fifth Omni Calvary Dragon , Merak "SD"

ok this card is just insane. When I mean insane , it's something too strong. With an ability that gives Penetrate and dealing 1 damage to yourself, it helps the Fifth Omni deck achieve all their synergy plays. It also gets its size reduced by 2 when there is a size 2 or higher <amourdragon> on the field , making this card a size 0. Fifth Omni was already one of those decks which were highly sought after due to it's strength . With constant support , this deck may be the deck which will be top-tier for a very long period of time.

Meta Overview 35: Shadowing The List With Shades

This week we see more and more Shadow Shades running around and one can say it is 'The next Aster'. With such a game-changing Impact Monster, its not wonder this deck has been dominating. Aside from that, this week is Singapore's Spring Fest and also Asia-Oceania Continentals. Star Dragon Aster still seems prominent even after the extreme hard-counters it recieved in Buddy Rave. A secret tech card has also been added to the already strong Fifth Omni deck to fight against the Magic World players. Coming in as an underdog, we see a surprising Dungeon Enemy deck taking the stage and wiping out all the other top-tier decks! Can this Dungeon Enemy deck actually be the remedy to the cancerous Magic World decks? This year's continentals saw a healthy amount of different decks which is great. Congratulations to all the winners!!

Meta Overview 34: Things Do Change

After a gruesome 2 months of waiting, the long-awaited , Buddy Rave is finally out !!! With its recent release, we do see many people trying out various decks from various worlds. Some even ranging from the not-so-popular Katana World to some of the more highly-anticipated decks like Dragon Ein. The number of Aster players have also been reduced dramatically and the number of Dragon Ein players increased tremendously due to it's accessiblity of all its key cards. One surprising fact is that we see the few 72 Pillars players topping at our locals instead of the highly-favored Dragon Ein. We still see Fifth Omni still going strong and Shadow Shade, as many anticipated, became a beast in the format. With the Impact Monster Sillhoulette Joe released, it gave Shadow Shade the edge it needs over other decks to win. With so many cards released and the meta being shifted, there is no determining what decks are going to be the monsters in the format, all we can do is wait and see.

Meta Overview 33: Time To Change

The final Overview pre-Buddy Rave with Jackknife Aster still standing strong at Tier 0. Many are expecting it to fall down far after Rave releases due to the fact that Dragon Ein is easy to make and will be running around everywhere, Jackknife Aster decks will have a harder time winning matches. However we do see the superior Control Fifth Omni being consistent, staying at the top of Tier 1 for  the whole format. The deck still pose as one of the stronger decks out there and even in post-rave, we aren't expecting it to fall through too much. A deck which we see to be climbing the Tiers is an unexpected Shadow Shade. With little support, many weren't expecting much out of it, but with it's current support, it has what it takes to reach Tier 1. Shadow Shade decks are also getting more and more popular due to the Impact Monster releasing in Buddy Rave. All this aside, once Alternative Booster Vol.1 releases, the whole Tier listing will shift drastically, or what we might call it, a format change. Which deck do you think will be the go-to deck?

Buddy Rave Meta Predictions

Alternative Booster Volume 1 Buddy Rave releases in just a few days more and we are sure that many of you guys are pumped up for the release!!! Much like CFV Fighter's Collection released yearly, this booster gives support to almost every and any kind of decks. We are expecting a HUGE meta-shift after this booster releases so don't be surprised if your $500 Jackknife Aster or Fifth Omni deck is not Tier 1 anymore. We cannot confirm what decks will stay and what decks will go, but here are the top 5 decks which we think will be played the most after the booster releases!!!

1. CardBurn DW
First up we have this extremely huge size 5 monster which only can be 'Ride' on through the effects on Card Wyvern. Hero World have recieved some insane support in this booster which have made Cardburn from a totally unplayable deck to something which may be unstoppable. It is made in a way that it can only be used through the effects of Card Wyvern, meaning you can't call it or 'Ride' it in any other way. However, once it is pulled out, it is almost unstoppable. With an overwhelming 15000/3/10000 stats, it can hit through anything. Moreover, Card Wyvern's effect is a 'Counter', which means that you can attack with your regular Ultimate CardBurn first and Card Wyvern first before you change it to CardBurn DW. With this combo , during that attack phase, you can easily reach up to 19 damage. Scary isn't it? Well this deck has it's downsides. It needs a ton load of gauge and also the Card pieces to get out your Ultimate CardBurn and DW. But once it's out, prepere to annihilate your opponent's life points!!!!

2. Dragon Ein
Well this comes as no surprise to many. A new Azi Dahaka form, a new item, so many easier ways to get off your Azi Dahaka and most importantly, more draw power. Dragon Ein has already been one of the stronger decks out there even before Buddy Rave releases but this booster maybe just what it needs to take down all the Jackknife Asters. What makes this deck extremely strong now is the fact that it has a new Azi Dahaka form which takes on the name of the older Azi. This means that you can perform a 'Buddy Call' no matter which Azi you draw into. Another thing about it is that, since you can perform a 'Buddy Call' no matter which you draw, if you don't get the right Azi Dahaka for the situation, you can call out the one from your Buddy Zone. This gives the deck the utility it needed. Also, we now have Curse Dragon Tragoth which allows you to cast a Set Spell from your drop zone or put a size 4 monster from your drop zone into your hand. No more worries that you ran out of Dragon Thrones or Azi Dahakas to use!!!!! Also with the pre-order boxes coming with a promo set a Azi Dahaka, we will be expecting Dragon Ein to be running everywhere and with it's insane support....well.....I guess Tier 0 incoming?

3. Battle Poets
A new archetype for Hero World which is just the definition of.........broken. This deck focuses on just pumping up your monsters and your 'Ride' with massive criticals. Imagine getting a permanent 'Judgement Day' buff. Pretty insane. With Hero World having access to Spell Nullifiers and large gauge accels, theres no doubt this deck is gonna be one of the big guns once its out. Also, with the kind of play-style the deck adopts and the attribute of the cards,  it can be easily integrated into Kaizeron decks and as if Kaizeron wasn't strong enough, Battle Poet adds to it. With most of the Hero World staples being reprinted in this set, this deck is highly accessible to new and old players alike.
We might or might not see an era where Hero World are everything again but one thing for sure, this deck is no doubt gonna be an insane top tier deck. We are definitely sure that many people are going to try out this awesome new and fun deck so be prepared to see this deck running around with Kaizeron with them.

4. Shadow Shade
Yes, this already Tier 1 deck is getting more support and not just any support, they are getting an insanely strong impact monster to add to their decks!!!! Silhoulette Joe,'Illusion Shadow Dragons' is a card which will bring Shadow Shade to another level. With a 'Counter' ability to destroy a monster on your opponent's field, it's no wonder this card is so strong. Destroying a monster on your opponent's turn can really mess up his/her combos sometimes and even reduce the amount of attack you have to eal with on your attack phase. Shadow Shade is a deck which focuses on adding soul to a single monster to get off some effects, moreover most of them has "Soulguard" which makes them hard to clear. With the addition of this card, it will be even harder to clear off their center tanks .

5. SunDragons
Don't be too surprised here. Sun Dragons have some extremely strong support coming up in this booster and with the meta shifting to large critical items, meaning tht they have to leave an open center, this is where Sun Dragons can benefit the most. With high damage output and a strong Impact Monster whose attack can't be nullified, this deck may be the one to balance out all the Hero World decks that are coming up. With a Sun Dragon Shield which cannot be nullified, they won't be caught off surprise by the Hero World players launching a full link attack to the player directly as their shield cannot be stopped. This deck might not be a popular choice among the players, but we do believe that it has what it takes to stop the Hero World decks from conquering everything.

.
