The fittest will survive: Meta analysis

Hey there buddyfighters. Today's article is going to be an in depth analysis about the meta. this will be as unbiased as possible.

First up the top dogs.

1) Star dragon world Aster build.

This deck is by far the most dominating deck in the meta game now. This deck has not only been topping in singapore, but it has also topped in many other countries. The deck's versatility is what makes the deck so dominant. With access to Dragonarms that can pull you from nearly any situation makes this deck have almost zero weakness.  With DBT01, Aster decks have gained an immensely powerful pair of cards.

Star jack repair is just an unfair card. not only do you get a free soul and the benefits of the dragoarms that go inside the soul, you also get a free guage. If this card had a cast cost of 1 guage instead of gaining a guage, i would say this card is fair.

Luminous Blue is another unfair card in my opinion. Getting a soul into Aster everyturn is a huge advantage. even if your opponent manages to clear every soul in your Aster, you can just add another using Luminous Blue or Star Jack repair. The inability to destroy or end the game with impact plus facing an Aster with considerable amount of souls and not to mention Dragoarms that pull you out of any bad situation(if there is even one) is what makes this deck really the best deck in the format.

Next deck we will be talking about is Fifth Omni

Dragon world is deck that bushiroad just cant stop giving insane support. Fifth omni was a deck that went from a full offense with giga howling crusher to a slow and steady deck thanks to this card here.

This card made the deck very control heavy. The recent winning lists from Singapore are all control variants. This is mainly due to Aster being able to one turn kill you with ease when you are playing the normal variant.  The above impact monster allows you to "Dragon emperor legend" whenever you take a damage.

By playing drago wisdom with the impact monster on your field, you get two guage and two draws at the cost of no life loss due to the impact monster restoring your life back. And if you have your weapon equipped you practically gain 1 life for drawing and guaging 2. The deck wins mainly due to the sheer hand advantage it has over your opponent. once you have enough defensive cards in your hand, you counter attack your opponent!

This is where these two card come into play. Combined with the weapon, They can dish out 9 damage everyturn. And with so much hand advantage you have over your opponent, There is almost nothing they can do against you as they would have used up almost all of their resource by the time you reach this point of the game.

These three are you main source of protection against the opponent when you are going for an all out attack. Once you have called drum and started your assault, all you have to do is use the above three to stop any form of attempt your opponent makes.

Last tier 1 deck will be 72 pillars

Now this is a deck that went from a control variant to a an all out attack variant due to the card Teacher Asmodai. The call cost of the card makes it so that you have to run Saturday night devil fever in order to fully utalize his potential. and his secondary effect also forces you to run either a weapon or set spells.

The main goal of the deck is to fill up your drop zone fast while doing mutliple attacks and finishing of your opponent with saturday night devil fever. Even if all fails, you get to use your teacher Asmodai's skill to pop cards on your opponent side leaving them at a severe disadvantage during the following turn,

These are the main set spells you would run in your deck. BAR king solomon is by far the best set spell 72 pillars have. Most decks in the format has to add cards apart from drawing in one way or another. By making them discard a card everytime they add a card to their hand you slow down your opponent significantly. Even though the deck has rush, it also has a very strong control aspect with cards like Magical goodbye and BAR king solomon.

Now the star of the deck!

Image result for duplication asmodai

One of the two reasons why this deck is very strong, the other being teacherdai. By swapping himself into any other Asmodai from your drop zone, you get one additional attack and also the benefits of the asmodai that comes to play through his effect. Pair this card with dance fever and you are getting a whopping 7 attacks in one turn! Another reason why this deck is so popular in singapore is due to the fact that you can use dance fever during your opponent's turn to destroy Aster. with the release of DBT01,  72 pillars now is an extremely consistent deck and deserves the spot on the list!

well i guess that sums up the tier 1 list. Instead of talking about the tier 2 or 1.5, i would like to talk about the Anti meta decks!

First up is

Darkhero/Darkhero Kaizerion!

Image result for darkhero kaizerion             Image result for darkhero kaizerion

This deck was once in Aster's throne but now its there to counter Aster! With the addition of Darkhero engine, the deck has became a hard counter to Aster as the darkheros make use of shadow dive! Aster is a deck that protects its center and Darkness fist Gwen goes right through it as long as you have another Darkhero on the field. Brave machines also have access to "Body of steel" which will be able to stop Aster's attack and counter attack it thereby removing one soul from it. Darkheros also have nameless assasin which removes one soul from a monster when it appears on the field and if you have another darkhero. If you manage to remove all the souls from Aster, which is very quick with nameless assasin and body of steel, you can use Tiger thrust to penetrate Aster and then use the most broken impact in the game.

This deck has a good match up against 72 pillars as well as Asmodai will be unable to destroy your monsters and most of them return to your hand at the end of the battle and he will only be able to destroy kaizerion once as he is not treated as a monster. Body of steel also stops the rush as most 72 pillars monsters have low base power. and all you have to do against fever is to use "or so the dream i had went". This will effectively shut their strategy down. however the reason why this deck is not in the tier 1 list is because of fifth omni. They have access to DragoDesperate which effectively shuts down this deck for an entire turn. And not to mention the benefits they gain from taking the 1 damage will put you at a huge disadvantage. Barbed wire is also another great threat to this deck which we see commonly being sided. There are too many soul removals and destruction in the meta for this to be in the tier 1 list again. Its more of an consistent but fragile Aster counter.

The next deck i would like to talk about is Asgards.

Image result for asgard buddyfight

This deck recieved alot of hype when Nemesis thunder first came out along with loki as those two pair would shut down Kaizerion, which was the mist dominant deck during that era. Infact the deck prooved its worth of being an Anti meta deck ever since by winning the Asia Oceania continentals. The deck's main attraction is loki. This card removes all souls from any card on the field upon call. This means Aster will be rendered useless as all you have to do is use bloody King's ability to destroy him afterwards. Bloody King solves all the problems against Fifth omni too. by discarding and gaining advantage through the cards that were discarded, The fifth omni player would see himself being in the disadvantage when going up against bloody king. The problem with this deck is when it goes against 72 pillars. Asmodai can just pop bloody King and with fairly low amount of defensive spells in the deck, an Asgard player will find himself loosing often to the 72 pillar rush and destruction.

Here are some decks that i think have the potential to be Antimeta decks as well but decided not to add in as the article will become too long.

1)Dragon Ein
2)Katana Ninja
3)Hundred demons
